1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account on SOS · School of Spirituality (“SOS”), an initiative of God in the City, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the portal.
2. Your account
- Give your real name — it is the name that appears on your certificate.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. If you think someone else has used it, reset your password and tell us.
- One person per account. Group or parish enrolments are welcome — contact us to arrange them.
3. Our courses
SOS courses are offered in the Catholic tradition and have a strong Catholic orientation. All are welcome. Courses are prepared by Rev. Prof. Fr. Sahaya G. Selvam, SDB, with priests, religious and lay formators. Sessions are usually released week by week to your group. We may adjust schedules, teachers or content when necessary, and will let enrolled students know.
The courses are for spiritual formation and education. They are not a substitute for professional psychological, medical or pastoral counselling.
4. Community conduct
Please be respectful to teachers and fellow students, submit your own work, and do not share your login or course materials with people who are not enrolled. We may suspend an account that is misused, after first trying to resolve the matter with you.
5. Fees and payment
- Course fees are shown on each course in Kenya Shillings (KES) and are paid once per course unless stated otherwise.
- M-Pesa: Lipa na M-Pesa → Pay Bill → Business number 880100, Account number 1012320283.
- Bank transfer: SDB UTUME YOUTH MINISTRY, NCBA Bank Kenya PLC, Karen Branch (branch 119), account 1012320283, bank code 07000, SWIFT CBAFKENXXXX.
- After paying, enter your transaction code in the course's “Pay course fee” window. The course unlocks once we confirm the payment against our statement — usually within 24 hours (international transfers can take longer).
- Any bank or M-Pesa charges are paid by the sender. Please keep your M-Pesa SMS or bank slip until your course is unlocked.
- We will only ever ask you to pay into the account above. If anyone asks you to pay elsewhere in the name of SOS, do not pay and let us know.
6. Refund policy
- Before the course starts or within 7 days of your course being unlocked, if you have opened no more than two sessions: full refund, less any transaction charges.
- After that: fees are not refundable, but you may ask to move to the next intake of the same course once, at no extra cost.
- Paid twice or overpaid: we refund the extra amount in full.
- If we cancel a course: you receive a full refund or a place on the next intake — your choice.
- To request a refund, email info@godinthecity.org with your name, course and transaction code. Refunds are sent back to the M-Pesa number or bank account the payment came from, normally within 14 days of approval.
7. Certificates
A Certificate of Completion is awarded when you have completed the course to the teacher's satisfaction (for example by following the sessions, submitting assignments and passing quizzes). Each certificate has a unique number and QR code that anyone can check at our verification page. A certificate may be withdrawn if it was obtained dishonestly or issued by mistake.
8. Course materials
Videos, notes, readings and quizzes belong to their authors and to God in the City. They are for your personal study only. Please do not copy, sell or publicly share them without written permission. Your own assignment answers remain yours; you allow your teachers to read and comment on them.
9. Our responsibility
We work hard to keep the portal available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be free of interruptions or errors. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim related to a course is limited to the fee you paid for that course. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act of Kenya.
10. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. We may update them from time to time; the date at the top shows the current version, and significant changes will be announced in the portal.
